New Leadership Frontiers Ahead

Leadership Memo 2024-5

Happy Memorial Day to everyone in the US! I hope you are getting recharged during this long weekend. And hello to everyone else! 👋🏻

I am sorry for sending out this newsletter so late. A lot has happened between the beginning of April and now. So, instead of a regular newsletter, I’d like to update you on what has been happening. Hope that’s ok.

First, I had a medical emergency, so I was taking it easy for a bit. Don’t worry, I’m all good now!

Second, I’m thrilled to finally be able to share that I’ve recently joined the board of the Consortium of Leaders (COL). The COL is a global network of leaders dedicated to the advancement of leadership and management principles, from theory to practice. It fosters agility, brings humanity, discovery and enlightenment to help leaders and organizations cultivate and develop future-forward capabilities. Some of you may have seen the announcement that I posted on LinkedIn last week. If you’re interested in what leadership and management need to look like in this fast-changing world, please follow us on LinkedIn. We already have a few things in the works and we’ll be posting regularly. If you have any questions or thoughts on how this can help you and your organization or want to get involved, please reach out by hitting the “reply” button.

Next month, we’ll return to our regular “programming”. 😉

Latest happenings:

Guess what? SFBABAM (San Francisco Bay Area Business Agility Meetup) is turning 3 years old this summer! To mark this milestone, we’re throwing anniversary celebrations around the world—kicking things off with a one-of-a-kind bash for our EMEA and Americas members in 2 week’s time. We’ll be using Liberating Structures (you know it’ll be interactive) on a virtual platform that lets you ‘move around’ like in real life (no, not Zoom!) This is one you won’t want to miss. So, come join us and register now.

When: 11 June, 11:30am PDT, 2:30pm EDT, 18:30 UTC, 19.30 BST, 20:30 CEST

I’m excited to announce the launch of our latest “Our Agile Tales” podcast series, “Money Matters”. In this podcast series, we sit down with Graham Scott, a Chartered Accountant, teacher, and author, and take a critical look at traditional budgeting practices and their constraints on organizational agility. Graham’s innovative approach to budgeting (applying the Theory of Constraints thinking to the traditional budgeting process) has not only transformed his own career but also empowered businesses to thrive and unlock business agility.
