In the last 2 weeks, we have been talking about how to be successful by living a focused life. The more focused your life is, the more impact it will have and the more success you will have in reaching your goals.
So far we have learned that you need to:
We’re going to look at the third step today: You must identify the barriers between you and your goal. Ask yourself, “Why don’t I have it already? Why am I not who I want to be? What’s between me and this goal?” Write down the roadblocks. Are the obstacles financial, educational, emotional, relational, or something else?
Once you identify the barriers, create a step-by-step plan. You need to think through a course of action to address the roadblocks you wrote down. If your obstacles are educational, how can you get the training you need to reach your goal? If your obstacles are relational, how can you heal a relationship to achieve your goal?
Achieving a goal is a lot of work, but the alternative is to drift through life. If you drift, life will be determined by other people. It will be done to you rather than you directing it. So, create a plan today to reach your goal.
Let’s put this into practice:
- Right now, are you drifting through life or directing life?
- What barriers are standing in the way of your big dream?
- What are specific things you can do, a step-by-step plan, to get you closer to your goal?
