Do you want to know what I found out? Insights from early pilots results

Leadership Memo 2022-10

Wow, it has been a busy few months for me. I shared with you last month that I conducted a global market research in Q3 which identified the top 10 global business challenges. Based on that research, I created a 6-week training & coaching program that addresses 9 out of those top 10 challenges. The program helps caring leaders learn how to create an environment that allows their employees to be happy, engaged, and high-performing, so they can react and adapt to this volatile, complex, and rapidly changing world. I also told you I’m running 2 different pilots (one for executives and one for middle management) to test out this new program.

So many executives in the past told me, “Mun-Wai, I know I need to learn new skills, but I just don’t have time to sit in a 2-hour training session, let alone ½ day or multiple days. In fact, I don’t even have 30 minutes that I don’t have interruptions. I know this sounds crazy, and it seems like I’m making excuses, but that’s just how my schedule is!” So, for this executive pilot, I got to test out how to train executives that work with their crazy schedules. Even though the executive pilot still has a few more days to go, I’m happy to announce that I’ve cracked the “executive crazy schedule” problem! The people in the executive program love how the training is being delivered, that it’s the right level of content for them, and that they can finally up-skill themselves. They also like the fact that they get to discuss with me, during our 1-on-1 coaching sessions, what they have tried (yes, the training has exercises), what their challenges are, and how to go about testing/implementing changes in their environments.

As for the middle management pilot, even though it’s only midway through, there are already lots of questions raised. The cohorts also share with each other (and me) what they have tried and how they can improve. It is so exciting to see that this new program is indeed helping leaders to rethink how work is done in a holistic manner.

I’ve also been getting good feedback from the pilots that I’ll incorporate before opening this program to the public in January 2023. Sign-ups will start in late November, so stay tuned!
